you know how people talk about hope - about how hope is the light in the darkest of tunnels; the rainbow after the rain; the budding of new leaves after the winter.
but they don't talk about how false hope, do they, about how false hope IS the darkness in the tunnel; how it festers in your heart and slowly consumes you (like poison)
about how it torments you slowly, painfully; conjuring fantasies of what ifs and fairytale endings that could never happen
about how it drives you to despair with the constant yearning and pining and sheer wanting
and how it holds you captive to its torture
as you spiral into madness
hope; hope is a beautiful thing, but also the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man.
i hope, but there is an indiscernible line between hope and false hope, and how much of it is real?
