okay i just -
i need to get this out of my head before tomorrow bec i have a feeling i will be bursting with emotion tomorrow :-(((( and tomorrow maybe i'll write a long long sad emo post but today, it will be a happy post in celebration of what we have done as a class up till today :-)
alright
actually nothing much has happened; it's just that moments spent with your loved ones (yes 415 you are now termed as LOVED ONES aw) make even the most mundane times seem special :-)
like spending free blocks between cores/options together watching horror movies (!!!!! sinister was baaaaad, but the last exorcism was a joke lolol BAMBOOZLED!!), last min decisions to pon options and hang out in the canteen, playing card games (all the betrayals and suspense of bridge and the many casualties of PEANUT HAHAHA), slacking in the canteen (and stuffing our face w food bec 'last time eating this' is totally a legit reason to gorge yourself)
and also chinese blocks which have been surprisingly fun (bec ldw + awesome chinese class!!)
and pe! playing captain's ball with the class, cutting across jblock/hiding in the toilets cos no one wants to run, and during inter-class games:
ms quek: "alright, faster choose one game to play each class say one game!!"
someone from 402: "netball!"
415: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
someone from 404: "omg let's play rugby!!!!! :D :D"
415: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO"
nic: "LET'S PLAY FOOTBALL!!!!!!"
415: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
hahaha see class spirit the best part was how everyone just chorused NOOOOOO at the same time damn funny

and remember in year 3 when we were playing rugby and the principals and directors were having a photo shoot at the field aND NICOLE TACKLED SOMEONE W THE BALL JUST AS THEY TOOK A PHOTO AHAHHAA

and "Mr Lim, how is your slut?" hagahahaahgahha

sigh okay this is becoming a very nostalgic post sigh sigh i actually miss classroom life!!

sometimes my mind goes into overdrive and a million things run through my head - revisiting what occurred in the day; a flurry of what ifs and if onlys and it's suffocating and incapacitating  and i feel like drowning in the raging sea of emotions

my mind is a prison and my thoughts are the desperate inmates begging for release - but there's a barrier.

it is scary what happens when prisoners are allowed to run free
(what good will it do?)
and it's better when some things are hidden in the depths of darkness, restricted in the confinement of my mind and privy only to the wildest of emotions.

last week more than a third of the class squeezed in to the lift bec we were too lazy to take the stairs.
and we've been squeezing into the magic lab trying to watch horror movies (or not) whenever we have free blocks in between core and options.
last week during paper checking our little island of failure was damn hilarious it was quite possibly the best paper checking i've ever had (marks notwithstanding) (also i accidentally wrote Germany as my name on my history paper it was quite embarrassing but funny la come to think of it)
and today, we played hide and seek/sardines in school.
these are the times I realise I'm going miss the most in rg - precious moments spent with the best people and the bestestest class in the school. I'm going to miss everyone so so much I can't even bring myself to think about graduation :-(
I think I will legit cry on that day, the last official day we'll have as a class in our dark blue pinafores with rolled-up sleeves and dark blue name tags. I know there'll be class outings and even! chalet! but honestly, it's not going to be the same. i hope i make the best out of the remaining time i have left here :-)

my life so far:

1. went out w my ncc homies for lunch + billiard! it was supremely fun and i haven't spent time w them IN AGES! love going out w platoonmates cos they can always cheer me up and we always have fun no matter what :') anyway, we went to aston's and then billiard-ed. but my billiard skillz quite bad now BOOOOO i need to play more!!!!

2. val's birthday celebration on thurs! jingen came over to make cake after options hehe. it was AWESOME the prettiest cake i have EVER baked ok so so proud :'))) (pls don't judge don't expect liyin standard ahahha). then we went to 18 chefs for the dinner! it's quite a cool place - nice food, and good service! the people there were friendly and fun :-) i think 18 chefs has a really interesting concept - go check it out! it's a cause worth supporting :-) anyway, happy happy birthday val! glad you enjoyed your sweet sixteenth :-) . i'm glad we've been in the same class these 4 years - i couldn't have asked for anyone better.

3. i woke up late on wed. chinese was supposed to have started at 8.45 but overslept and woke at 9 and reached class during the break ahhahahahahahhahaha ok la ldw was damn swag he was just like "hui min zhong yu chu xian le"

4. I PASSED PHILO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank goodness man 46% 6% to a fail omg. super super grateful and glad. but like everyone got 8/9 for class participation (only those who actually spoke got 10) but slumber party all got 7 bec of that time kanasai caught us talking then he glared at us with his disgusting beady eyes lololol whatevs man super happy i still passed don't have to see that bitch ever again!!

all in all options is pretty okay so far. could be far worse (going back everyday/philosophy of buddhism) but could be better too (ie NO OPTIONS AT ALL) but my timetable's pretty good so that's def a plus point :-) chinese os soon though, super unprepared. can't bring myself to study seriously the mock paper was just that - a MOCK paper. not mock as in fake but more of mock as in joke lolol. super joke papers la i'm glad it's over.

anyway i've been using this period to catch up on my reading!!! okay see i need to become a more well-read and knowledgeable person so i've been trying to read classics/must reads like the catcher in the rye, the 5 people you meet in heaven, the fault in our stars, the great gatsby etc.
thanks to michelle (hehe i know you can see this) this has been made a lot easier!!

so yesterday i started reading the fault in our stars (and finished it /humblebrag):
4.5/5!!!!! it was a very good book. i teared while reading it, which is testament to how good a writer john green is. he not only invokes deep reflection, but also evokes emotion, and he makes you laugh at the same time! to me, that's the mark of a good writer - being able to draw the reader in like that, and making the reader read not only with his/her eyes, but her heart. i like how his sentences are so cutting - simply worded but with profound meanings. the hamartia of the book, though, was how it was kinda unrealistic -  i just couldn't identify with the main character. i guess i was more of crying for her, than crying with her. also, the premise is kinda unrealistic as well (if you overlook the whole cancer-stricken thing), and in retrospect the plot did seem a bit like a fanfic hahahahahahahahhaha (i mean, go somewhere meet a super hot guy who is intrigued by you bec you look like his ex and then he is nice and charming and hot and intelligent and he does super sweet things for you and you fall in love and he puts up a lot of grand displays of affection for you and you go overseas with him and have your dreams come true only for it to be shattered so he can comfort you etc etc. how realistic is that why hasn't my hot guy arrived yet) but yes good book in all! 10/10 would rec

another book i've finished reading is the catcher in the rye by jd salinger. a disappointment, though, i was kinda expecting more since it's so widely hailed as one of the best, must-read books of this century, and since it's so often considered one of the literature greats.
well first off, the book was so. freaking. flat!??! there was like no climax in the story -  it was all about him dancing with girls getting drunk roaming the streets of ny. was it supposed to be the final few pages of the book where he receives this big epiphany? i must've missed it. also, the main narrator was quite a whiny sonuvabitch. he seemed a bit like a try-hard (kinda ironic considering his hatred of phonies) and since it's narrated from first person pov i kinda just wanted to reach in and punch him in the face a bit after a while. also, he's a sad, pathetic, desperately lonely boy who's just confused about what he wants from life - and i guess part of the reason why i dislike him so much is maybe because his personality hits too close to home. after all, we're both immature 16-year-olds still lost in the process of figuring out the world, and maybe we're both a little too lonely to admit it. also, his inner rants and monologues are a pain to get through. (kinda like reading my blog post huh ahahahah) hmmmmm 2/5!
